Subaru is simplifying its WRX range for 2025 by discontinuing the least expensive base model. The new starting point is the Premium trim, which is available for $36,920 with a six-speed manual transmission.
Introducing the tS trim, which replaces last year’s TR model. This manual-only option debuts at $46,875 and includes several performance enhancements.
With the base model's removal due to low demand, the WRX's starting price sees a $3,065 increase. The Premium trim now becomes the most popular choice among buyers. Other trims also experience minor price hikes:
- Limited: $41,300 (manual); $42,850 (CVT)
- tS and GT: $46,875, each with distinct features.
Despite the lineup changes, every WRX still boasts a 271-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine with all-wheel drive. Here’s what sets them apart:
- tS: Available only in manual, comes with Brembo brakes and 19-inch wheels featuring Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.
- GT: Available only with a CVT, includes 18-inch wheels and adaptive dampers, which are also present in the tS.
Expect the 2025 WRX to arrive in showrooms early next year.
Summary: For 2025, Subaru has removed the base WRX model, increasing its starting price by over $3,000. The new tS trim is packed with performance features, appealing to driving enthusiasts.
