- GMC Sierra 1500
- GMC Yukon (including the Yukon XL)

Defects Identified

GM has identified two critical manufacturing defects:

- Contamination Issue: Sediment can infiltrate connecting rods and crankshaft oil galleries, damaging rod bearings.
- Crankshaft Defects: Out-of-specifications crankshaft dimensions can lead to severe engine failure.

Symptoms and Consequences

Owners can identify potential issues through:

- Unusual loud noises from the engine

- Decreased engine performance
