The project's feasibility depends on profitability, supported by Stellantis chief Carlos Tavares and DS president Olivier Francois.
Finding the right pricing model is key. In the hypercar market, a production range of 50-200 units is ideal to make the use of handmade 3D components viable over costly tooling. Metroz mentioned that customers willing to invest around £850,000 tend to prefer combustion engines to electric motors. This suggests a potential use of the Maserati Nettuno 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine, capable of delivering at least 530bhp.
First unveiled amidst a collection of original SMs at the Chantilly Arts and Elegance event, the SM Tribute honors its predecessor while introducing design features for future DS models.
