Fergus Walkinshaw wanted to honor this storied history. The Supercat marks a comeback, aiming to be an ultra-low-volume manufacturer, breathing new life into the Jaguar XJ-S. Despite its initial lukewarm reception, the XJ-S is now gaining newfound appreciation, finally being recognized as cool.
Dubbed a super GT, the TWR Supercat combines luxury and performance, offering a V-12 with a manual transmission at a fraction of its rivals' costs. Enhanced with high-efficiency elements for improved performance, the remodel includes a complete overhaul for greater rigidity and weight reduction using carbon fiber.
The V-12 is meticulously upgraded to 5.6 liters, producing 660 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a reliable Tremec Magnum six-speed manual, satisfying the demand for a manual gearbox, though automatic or dual-clutch options are available. Enthusiasts, take note: it includes adjustable traction control and suspension from TracTive, complemented by AP Racing brakes, with an option for carbon-ceramic discs.
Designer Khyzyl Saleem, known for his bold digital car remixes, shaped the Supercat's body. The result is impressive, integrating contemporary design elements with functional modifications like a reverse scoop hood and widened fenders.
