While many automakers leave engines unchanged during updates, Porsche goes against the grain. The Carrera S now boasts a 30-hp increase from its 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer six-cylinder engine, bringing its output to 473 horsepower. Torque remains at 390 lb-ft. The Carrera S is available exclusively with an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 2025 Carrera S interior offers sumptuous leather enhancements:
- Cowhide on seats, headrests, upper dashboard, upper door panels, and rear seats (available as an optional no-cost feature)
- Standard two seats in the coupe; the cabriolet includes rear seats with no delete option

Now available for order, the Carrera S coupe starts at $148,395, with the Cabriolet priced at $161,595. Although this represents a nearly $14,000 increase over the 992.1, the enhancements in power, brakes, and luxury could be seen as a worthwhile investment.
