A Promising Package

- Charming Design: The ID.One boasts an appealing and determined design that seems ready to impress.

The ID.One's Foundation

- Platform Use: It will utilize a version of VW’s MEB platform, the same one that will support the upcoming ID.2.
- Production Timeline: The ID.2 will arrive first in 2026, priced around €25,000 (under £21k), with the ID.One expected in 2027 at an even more accessible price.

Manufacturing Focus

Volkswagen CEO, Thomas Schäfer, announced at their Wolfsburg headquarters: "An affordable, high-quality, profitable electric Volkswagen from Europe for Europe."

- Strategic Moves: The shift of Golf production to Mexico will allow Wolfsburg’s ‘Hall 54’ to focus on the “electric Golf successor” and the electric T-Roc on the new ‘Scalable Systems Platform’.

Technological Advancement

- New Platform: This platform represents VW’s next-gen all-electric, highly scalable structure that promises to revolutionize manufacturing efficiency.

Schäfer declared, “We will be making Wolfsburg the capital of our new all-electric compact class.”
