In 2025, Evasive Motorsports aims to break the 10-minute barrier once again at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. This year, they've swapped their Tesla Model 3 for a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, transforming it into a formidable contender with significant modifications.
To optimize the Ioniq 5 N, Evasive has:
- Removed the entire interior, stock doors, and tailgate.
- Replaced parts with carbon-fiber components.
- Achieved a 500-pound weight reduction from its original 4,851-pound curb weight.
Further modifications include:
- 19x11 inch lightweight forged wheels from Titan 7 with Yokohama Advan A005 race slicks.
- Aero discs from EVS Tuning for improved air efficiency.
- CounterSpace Garage brake pads with Endless brake fluid for optimal braking.
- A Voltex-designed carbon fiber body kit, featuring a front lip, splitter, side skirts, fender flares, underbody aero, and a rear wing.
Advanced systems ensure the 5 N is race-ready:
- Krontec air jacks for rapid tire changes.
- Custom Moton coilovers designed by suspension expert Mike Kojima.
- EVS Tuning anti-roll bars for enhanced handling.
Safety and driver comfort are priorities:
- Eimer Engineering six-point roll cage.
- Sparco QRT-C carbon fiber seat for driver Rob Walker.
- Wrapped in N Division livery, ready for the event.
Rob Walker, who was already exploring a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N for personal use, becomes the chosen driver. His familiarity with the car is bolstered by regular track sessions at Buttonwillow Raceway and convenient access to Tesla Superchargers.
