The Aston Martin Valhalla is here, marking a historic moment as the brand's first series-production mid-engined supercar. This hybrid powerhouse combines cutting-edge technology with breathtaking performance.
At the core of the Valhalla is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, Aston Martin's most powerful engine to date. With advanced turbo technology, camshafts, and manifolds, this engine alone delivers 817 bhp. It’s further enhanced by three electric motors, bringing the total output to an astonishing 1,065 bhp and 811 lb-ft of torque.
The Valhalla includes two front motors and a third integrated into its gearbox. These motors drive the car in reverse and enhance performance by mitigating turbo lag and providing an extra burst of power. Uniquely, in EV mode, the Valhalla functions as a front-wheel-drive vehicle.
Power is delivered through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission across all four wheels, propelling the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 217 mph. The Valhalla's aerodynamic prowess is demonstrated by 600 kg of downforce at 149 mph, supported by state-of-the-art active aero systems.
This supercar is constructed around a bespoke carbon fiber tub with a focus on weight reduction, achieving a weight of 1,655 kg – 120 kg lighter than some competitors. Developed in collaboration with Aston Martin’s F1 team, it features front pushrod suspension and a five-link rear setup, enhanced by adaptive dampers and high-performance brakes.
Sophisticated systems manage 4WD dynamics, including torque vectoring, regenerative braking, and an e-differential at the rear. Modes such as EV, Sport, Sport+, and Race allow drivers to tailor the experience to their preference, with the rear wing activating in Race mode for optimal performance.
Visually, the Valhalla honors its concept roots with carbon fiber construction, dramatic dihedral doors, and a spoiler that smoothly integrates until engaged. A roof snorkel channels air to the engine, highlighting its F1 inspiration.
Inside, the design is minimalist yet luxurious, with carbon-trimmed seats and twin digital displays providing essential driving and vehicle data. It reflects the brand's ambition to merge luxury with performance.
Only 999 Valhallas will be crafted, each priced at around £850,000, positioning it as a distinctive alternative to rivals such as the Lamborghini Revuelto and McLaren W1.
The Aston Martin Valhalla sets a new standard for mid-engined supercars, blending historical luxury with advanced technology and stunning performance, all wrapped in a visually striking package. It represents a pivotal leap forward for Aston Martin into the future of supercar engineering.
