When asked about resurrecting the charming 2CV, Citroen's CEO, Thierry Koskas, commented, "I would say, never say never." Though he personally isn't a fan of retro design, Koskas acknowledges its current appeal. While he doesn't envision reviving all past models, he hints at possibly making one exception for the 2CV.
Reinventing the 2CV presents a unique challenge. Could it be an even more affordable alternative to the £22k all-electric e-C3? The designers tasked with this project will have their work cut out for them.
Thierry Koskas, who became CEO in March 2023, has a personal connection to small Citroens—his first car was a white Visa. Now leading the brand, Koskas aims to explore new body styles beyond clones of SUV models, as demonstrated by the launch of the C3 Aircross and the upcoming updates.
"We want to be daring," Koskas asserts, pointing to the Ami and the standout appeal of the new C3. Expanding Citroen's design language to incorporate diverse shapes is a future goal.
