The Unveiling

The Bugatti Chiron never had a convertible counterpart like the Veyron did. However, Bugatti has surprised us all with the W16 Mistral. This stunning model is custom-made and limited to only 99 units, each priced at £5 million. As production begins, it's worth noting that all units were sold out even before the unveiling in 2022.

The Final Hurrah

Marking the end of an era, the W16 Mistral is the last road Bugatti powered by the W16 engine, paving the way for the V16 Tourbillon. It features an impressive 1600hp, 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine—the same powerhouse featured in the 304mph Chiron Super Sport 300+.

Pushing the Limits

Back in 2013, the roofless Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse hit a top speed of 254mph with 1200hp. Now, with advanced engineering and an additional 400hp, what can the W16 Mistral accomplish? Top Gear took it to the Papenburg track in Germany to find out. Deputy editor Ollie Kew shares the exhilarating experience on the Top Gear Magazine Podcast with Jack Rix, Rowan Horncastle, and Ollie Marriage.

Summary

Discover Bugatti’s new pinnacle—the W16 Mistral. With its limited units and a final farewell to the iconic W16 engine, it sets the stage for a thrilling performance finale.
